Job summary

Turner Unified School District #202 in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Night Custodian to maintain and improve the school’s physical environment, under the direction of the Property Services Supervisor and Principal. The role includes assisting with tasks as directed and ensuring safe, clean facilities for students and staff.

You will supervise custodial staff at the assigned facility, must pass a background check and TB test, and bring experience in custodial services and basic electrical,

Qualifications

• Background check required.
• TB test on file.
• Experience as a school custodian or similar custodial service preferred.
• Knowledge of basic electrical repair, carpentry and ground maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Reliable transportation and communication are required.

Responsibilities

Job description

Purpose: The Night Custodian is an important member of the school staff as he/she must continually strive to maintain and improve the physical environment in which learning takes place. This effort requires not only his/her assistance as directed by the Property Services Supervisor and Principal, but also the ability to "see" needs and correct them without specific direction

Responsible to: Property Services Supervisor and Principal

Supervises: Custodial staff of the assigned facility.

Payment rate: Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must have a current TB test on file.
• Experience as a school custodian or the equivalent in custodial service in other institutions or firms is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the basic techniques of electrical repair and maintenance, carpentry, and ground maintenance.
• Ability to manually lift a maximum of 60 pounds.
• Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance.
• Must have reliable transportation.
