Job summary

KEARNY PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking a full-time Night Custodian for the night shift (3pm–11pm). You will maintain a clean, safe school facility and perform custodial tasks under the direction of the Director of Operations.

Candidates must have a Black seal license or be eligible to obtain one, strong knowledge of plant operation and cleaning methods, and be able to read, write and communicate effectively. US citizenship or legal resident status and NJ residency within one year are required.

Qualifications

• Black seal license or ability to obtain
• Minimum experience as determined by the Board of Education
• Knowledge of plant operation and maintenance; knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures; knowledge of heating and ventilation; proper handling of hazardous materials
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
• Required criminal history background check and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status
• Current residency in NJ, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment
