Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program (2 years minimum).
• Diploma or Certificate of Completion and Associate’s Degree required.
• CRT certification by NBRC is required.
• RRT credential NBRC within 180 days of hire.
• Illinois license as Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.
• NRP/PALS/ACLS as applicable to patient population preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers oxygen/medical gas therapy per physician order or protocols; documents in EPIC.
• Delivers bronchodilator, steroid, mucolytic therapies and documents in EPIC; assesses patient response.
• Performs bronchopulmonary hygiene and airway care per physician order; documents in EPIC.
• Initiates and maintains NIV and invasive ventilation; assesses patient tolerance and adjusts care.
• Manages ventilators; conducts weaning assessments and checks; documents in EPIC.
• Performs ABG analysis and ensures quality control per guidelines; documents results.
• Provides patient transport using oxygen delivery systems and ventilators as needed.
