Job summary

Kelly Services in Newburyport, MA is seeking a permanent Machine Operator for the 3rd shift (11pm–7am, Mon-Fri). The role focuses on operating coating machines, performing setup, and ensuring quality.

You will read schedules, handle material movement, run QA tests, and support other departments as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required; manufacturing experience and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Manufacturing experience and/or mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Intermediate computer skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain coating machines, ensuring optimal performance and quality.
• Read schedules to determine solutions and changeovers, and perform machine setups as needed.
• Observe machines during operation to detect defects, make adjustments, and perform quality checks.
• Handle material movement (loading, unloading, packing, transporting) using carts, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Clean machines and equipment between runs, with occasional confined space entry.
• Record production run quantities, follow SOPs, and conduct QA testing using computer equipment.
• Assist other operators, cross-train on equipment, and support other departments as needed.
