Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Texas Certified Nurse Assistant certification is required.
• Ability to read, write and effectively communicate in English.
• Six months experience in assisted living or long-term care preferred.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing conditions.

Responsibilities

• Model a servant and solutions oriented attitude towards residents and co-workers.
• Ensure resident/visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of hazards and reporting them.
• Make beds, straighten rooms and keep care areas organized and clean.
• Assist residents with feeding and monitor for choking; ensure safe transfers.
• Document care accurately and report changes to the supervising nurse promptly.
• Attend in-service and staff meetings to maintain competency and certification.
