Qualifications

• Labor Class: There are no education or experience requirements for this class.
• Cleaners must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• 55 B/C program eligibility will be considered; provide a copy of eligibility letter with application.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in assigned areas.
• Collects and empties trash and recycling per cleaning schedules; handles waste and spills according to procedures.
• Assembles cleaning carts and prepares, dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions.
• Washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows with mops and detergents.
• Vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors, and shampooing carpets.
• Cleans showers and restrooms, including toilets and sinks, with appropriate equipment.
• Replaces light bulbs and dusts high fixtures; polishes surfaces and equipment.
• Monitors supplies and notifies supervisor of needs or equipment issues.
• Moves and arranges furniture for cleaning or events; may assist with other tasks as needed.
