Job summary

LJP Waste Solutions is seeking a full-time Swing Driver to support Semi and Roll-Off routes from our North Mankato operation. This role requires flexibility, safety, and the ability to operate commercial vehicles following CDL rules.

You will work on on-call schedules, learn routes, perform vehicle inspections, and train new drivers as needed. The team values reliability, safety, and strong communication with dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Class A CDL
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• Ability to pass criminal background checks and drug screening
• Authorized to work in the United States and at least 21 years of age
• Ability to speak and read English to communicate with the public and understand traffic signals
• Legible handwriting for inspections and paperwork
• Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, and dry weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned Roll-Off and Semi route duties safely and efficiently
• Operate compactors, containers, trailers, and commercial hauling equipment
• Follow electronic tablet instructions and dispatch work orders accurately
• Learn company routes, procedures, and equipment functions
• Train new drivers on routes and operational expectations
• Perform routine truck inspections and basic preventative maintenance
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Safely navigate congested city and suburban routes
• Maintain professional communication with customers, dispatch, and team members
• Comply with all company policies and transportation regulations
• Adapt to varying start times and scheduling needs based on fleet availability
• Perform physically demanding work including lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and mounting/dismounting trucks
