Job summary

Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for the 3rd shift (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.), three days per week. Officers patrol the campus, inspect safety equipment, monitor cameras, and respond to emergencies while enforcing campus policies.

Travel between HACC locations may be required and a valid driver’s license is necessary. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of security-related experience, and the ability to pass

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in law enforcement, security, or related field.
• PA Act 235 Lethal Weapons with Firearm or Act 120 is required.
• Valid Driver's License and clean criminal history; pass physical agility and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Patrols college campus, conducts safety checks of doors, lighting, and fire extinguishers; monitors surveillance and responds to calls for service.
• Respond to policy enforcement, medical emergencies, and law violations; coordinate with outside agencies as needed.
• Perform armed money escorts as requested to transport college assets.
• Enforce parking and traffic regulations; provide traffic control during events.
• Complete incident reports and other administrative tasks; communicate effectively with staff, students, and visitors.
