Job summary

Optical Cable Corporation in Roanoke, VA, seeks a Cabler Operator for night shift (6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday with some schedule flexibility). Sets up and runs 36”–64” cabling equipment for fiber optic cable manufacture and monitors the line for quality.

You will read setup sheets, adjust machines, perform measurements, and complete production documentation. The role includes safety, housekeeping, and potential overtime, with hourly pay between $17.30 and $24.84 and a 10% night

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED; six months related experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to operate measuring tools and document results.

Responsibilities

• Read the set-up sheet and determine the product, machine adjustments, and materials.
• Set up, run, and monitor cabling lines for standard products.
• Set up and run a respooling machine to respool fillers.
• Observe, measure, and inspect products to ensure adherence to specs.
• Complete all job documentation accurately.
• Operate a forklift and maintain safety procedures.
