The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Behavioral Health & Psychiatric Unit Coordinator for nights at the Strawberry Hill Campus in Kansas City. This full-time role includes charge nurse duties, patient flow management, and staff development.

Join a team focused on clinical excellence, productivity, and budget adherence. The position requires RN licensure in KS or MO, BLS, and timely NCL licensing; BSN is required for some hires and a Master’s in Nursing is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Kansas or Missouri.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• NCL (Nurse Compact License) within 60 days.
• BSN required within 3 years for ADN hires.
• BSN degree required upon hire for Southwest KC market.

Responsabilités

• Provides charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments and staffing to matrix.
• Manages a patient care assignment based on patient needs.
• Assists with hiring, education, and performance evaluations.
• Works with Nurse Manager and HR on performance management.
• Instructs staff to ensure standards via daily monitoring.
• Mentors staff for clinical excellence and satisfaction.
• Strives for productivity targets and budget compliance.
• Leads unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.
• Performs professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the unit.
