Job summary

Pape’ Kenworth, the premier medium and heavy-duty truck dealer in the West, seeks a Back Counter Salesperson to join the team. You will support the Service Department with parts, price parts for repairs, and help walk-in customers during the shift.

Qualifications

• Experience with Class 8 Truck parts
• Experience with ECAT or a similar program preferred
• At least one year of parts sales or diesel tech experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers in person and by phone

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Service Department to ensure high parts support
• Research, source, and price parts for service repairs
• Determine parts needs via literature, programs and knowledge
• Pull parts and stage for service technicians and customers
• Maintain knowledge of products, services and costs
• Complete transaction paperwork accurately and timely
• Provide front counter relief and respond to customers in person or by phone
• Process credits, adjustments and monitor for restocking charges
• Perform shipping/receiving and warehouse duties
• This role includes working 12pm–8:30pm

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Work closely with Service Department to ensure a high level of parts support is being delivered.
• Research, source, and price parts for service repairs.
• Determine parts needs through the use of literature, computer programs, and parts knowledge.
• Pull parts and stage for service technicians and customers.
• Maintain knowledge of products, services, and parts and the associated costs of each.
• Complete all necessary paperwork on each transaction in an accurate timely manner.
• Provide relief as needed for front counter parts members. This includes (but is not limited to) responding to customers in person or by telephone whenever required and providing quotes or estimates for parts. This team member will assist walk –in parts customers after the front counter closes at 5:00 pm.
• Process credits, make adjustments, and monitor for restocking charges on all parts sales completed.
• Performing shipping/receiving and warehouse duties as assigned.
• This team member will work 12pm – 8:30 pm.

WHAT YOU NEED:

• Self-motivated and assertive drive, the ability to work in solitude for most of your shift.
• Knowledge of Class 8 Truck parts
• Experience with ECAT or a similar program is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in parts sales or diesel tech
• Ability to perform at a high level in a fast pace and team-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person, in an effort to sell company parts and other services.
• Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
• Above-average organizational skills
• The ability to lift heavy items sometimes over 100lbs, but often times over 40lbs
• Knowledge of parts inventory preferred
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts. (Training is available)

Compensation: $28-35/hr (Depending on Experience)
