Night Auditor (Springhill Suites by Marriott Amarillo)
The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the auditing, posting, and balancing of daily financial transactions to support the hotel and its outlets, including Food & Beverage. The role involves delivering outstanding guest service and ensuring financial profitability. The Night Auditor should have a professional, warm, and welcoming demeanor, be a self-starter capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, possess technical knowledge and aptitude, and have excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests, owners, and co-workers.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties include the following:
- Adhere to Platinum Management Services, LLC. and brand-specific standards.
- Comply with all applicable laws and ordinances.
- Follow safety and emergency procedures, including evacuation and first aid.
- Promote the property through courtesy and a positive attitude.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel information, including room categories, rates, packages, and local attractions.
- Be proficient in front desk and guest service operations.
- Handle housekeeping operations, especially laundry tasks.
- Assist guests with disabilities and address their needs.
- Handle guest complaints courteously and efficiently.
- Calculate and submit account balances, process reservations, and perform front desk duties efficiently.
- Follow audit procedures to balance daily revenue and expenses, identify and correct errors.
- Ensure charges are properly posted and balanced to guest folios and ledgers.
- Answer phones promptly and professionally.
- Upsell hotel services and facilities.
- Enter wake-up calls accurately.
- Process payments, vouchers, and miscellaneous charges.
- Report security issues and safety hazards.
- Coordinate with maintenance for reported problems.
- Assist with pantry, suite, or gift shop duties, including breakfast setup.
- Maintain confidentiality of all hotel-related information.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional appearance and grooming, including uniform adherence.
- Proficient in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to complete necessary training.
- Attain and maintain ServSafe/Food Handler permits if handling food and beverages.
- Self-motivated with leadership qualities.
- Proficient with business software, PMS, POS, MICROS, etc.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Valid Motor Vehicle Report (if applicable).
- Availability to work nights and flexible hours.
- Reliable, able to work independently.
- Outgoing personality and professionalism.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 pounds.
- Previous hospitality front desk experience preferred.
- High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
