Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling cashier transactions, reviewing and compiling management reports, ensuring accurate guest billing and city ledger transactions. The role involves communicating with management and performing guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities

• Understand and work with financial data and basic arithmetic.
• Cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Perform guest services including check-in/out, reservations, and call handling.
• Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
• Prepare and distribute daily and monthly reports as per hotel standards.
• Audit cashier work across departments.
• Reconcile and transmit credit card transactions timely.
• Ensure accuracy of reported data and statistics.
• Update financial information in corporate systems.
• Perform data processing functions regularly.
• Report operational or financial anomalies to management.
• Maintain guest satisfaction.
• Respond to governmental inquiries and guest requests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of relevant experience preferred.
• Guest service experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in computer skills required.
• Flexibility to work late/overnight shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
