Job description

Hilton Garden Inn is looking for a Night Auditor to provide guests with an excellent hotel experience while functioning as the sole Front Office Associate during the overnight shift. We are looking for someone who can provide attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests throughout their stay while conducting the front office functions during the 11pm – 7am shift.

Responsibilities
  1. Greet and welcome all guests approaching the front desk in accordance with Lexima/Brand Standards.
  2. Responsible for the preparation and disposition of all night audit checklist work and reports as well as the front office function on the third shift.
  3. Handle check-ins and check-outs in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner.
  4. Answer all guest inquiries (i.e. hotel services and amenities, the area, etc.).
  5. Be aware of all rates, packages and special promotions.
  6. Obtain all necessary information when taking room reservations and follow rate quoting guidelines.
  7. Fully understand and be able to operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system.
  8. Focus on his/her role in contributing to guest satisfaction surveys.
  9. Prepare coffee set-up each morning prior to serving time.
  10. Pass and maintain food handlers license as required by the hotel.
  11. Balance daily reports and identify and correct any errors.
  12. Maintain cashiering responsibilities as per front office procedures.
  13. Ensure correct and accurate cash handling while at the front desk.
  14. Distribute or tabulate any work as outlined by management.
  15. Comply with all safety and security procedures as they relate to the building and guest corridors to ensure all areas are locked and secured.
  16. Have a thorough working knowledge of security procedures.
  17. Train any new Night Auditors as requested by management.
  18. Keep working areas neat and organized.
  19. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with dress code and uniform requirements.
  20. Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor at all times.
  21. Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow employees and other departments within the hotel.
  22. Must be always attentive, courteous and efficient in dealings with clients, guests, managers and all other employees.
  23. Demonstrate a genuine care and commitment to guest service.
Qualifications
  1. Ability to work the 11pm – 7am shift.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  3. Previous hospitality experience preferred.
  4. Knowledge of accounting principles preferred.
  5. Experience handling cash, accounting procedures and general administrative tasks.
  6. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipation, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  7. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  8. Must be fluent in English.
Physical Requirements
  1. Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
  2. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  3. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  4. Ability to stand during the entire 8 hour shift.
