Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports promptly, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. The role includes communicating concerns to management and performing guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities

1. Understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions.
2. Cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
3. Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
4. Perform guest services (check-in/out, reservations, calls).
5. Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
6. Prepare and distribute daily and monthly reports.
7. Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work.
8. Process credit card transactions timely.
9. Ensure accuracy of reported data and statistics.
10. Input financial data into corporate systems.
11. Keep management informed of operational or financial issues.
12. Ensure guest satisfaction.
13. Respond to governmental inquiries.
14. Handle guest requests.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of hotel or related experience.
2. Guest service experience preferred.
3. Computer skills required.
4. Flexible with hours, including late/overnight shifts.
5. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
6. Maintain a friendly demeanor and effective communication skills.
