Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports promptly, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. He/she also communicates concerns to management and performs guest service duties such as check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Understand financial data and perform basic arithmetic functions.
  • Cross-train in other hotel-related or accounting areas.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Perform guest services including check-in/out, reservations, and call handling.
  • Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Tax Reports).
  • Prepare month-end reports.
  • Audit Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work.
  • Reconcile and transmit credit card transactions timely.
  • Ensure accuracy of reported data and statistics.
  • Update financial information in corporate systems.
  • Perform data processing functions as required.
  • Report operational or financial anomalies to management.
  • Maintain guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to governmental inquiries and guest requests.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent; one year of hotel or related experience preferred.
  • Guest service experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency in computer skills required.
  • Flexibility to work late or overnight shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and attend meetings and trainings.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming.
