Overview

The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports on a timely basis, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. He/she is also responsible for effectively communicating concerns and/or related issues to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check-in, check-out, switchboard operation, and reservations.

Responsibilities

1. Work with and understand financial information and data, including basic arithmetic functions.
2. Cross-train in other accounting or hotel-related areas.
3. Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines.
4. Perform guest services functions (check-in/out, reservations, call handling).
5. Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports.
6. Prepare and distribute daily and monthly reports, including Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports, etc.
7. Audit and reconcile Front Desk and Food & Beverage Cashier’s work.
8. Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit credit card transactions timely.
9. Ensure the accuracy of all reported numbers and statistics.
10. Input and update financial information into the corporate network.
11. Perform data processing system functions as required.
12. Keep management informed of operational or financial deviations.
13. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
14. Respond to governmental inquiries.
15. Handle guest requests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; one year of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
• Guest Service Experience preferred.
• Computer skills required.
• Flexible schedule; willingness to work late/overnight shifts.
• Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
• Maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
