Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages and other front office operating
statistics.
- Prepares a summary of cash, check and credit card vouchers.
- Verifies all account posting and balances made during the day by Front Desk Agents.
- Monitors the current status of coupon, discount, and other promotional programs.
- May fulfills the duties of a Front Desk Agent in terms of check-in and check-out procedures.
- Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts.
- Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers.
- Posts guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the Front Desk Agents.
- Transfers charges and deposits to master accounts.
- Obtains bank before shift and ensures it balances.
- Summarizes results of operations for management.
- Maintains a good communication with co-workers and maintains a positive and professional work environment.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED plus one (1) year of hotel front desk experience, cash handling experience and/or accounting procedures. Must meet all knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be eighteen (18) years of age for Arizona properties and twenty-one (21) years of age for New Mexico properties. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Navajo preference.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Knowledge of principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts.
- Knowledge of performing Hotel check-in and checkout procedures.
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
- Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures.
- Skill in operating computers, posting machines, typewriters and front office equipment.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, presentation software (such as PowerPoint), and PC-based computerized accounting software.
- Skill in preparing financial reports.
- Skill in phone etiquette.
- Skill in records maintenance.
- Skill in account balancing.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
- Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to be welcoming and courteous.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is may be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods, walk; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or crouch, and have normal auditory and verbal communications skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
Work is generally performed in an office and Hotel setting a moderate noise level. Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
