Princeton University’s Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance invites applications for postdoctoral research associates for the 2027–2028 academic year. Fellows conduct research in international political economy and global governance, with opportunities to engage in PSFL-related projects and attend weekly seminars.

TheNiehaus Center for Globalization and Governance(NCGG) at Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs invites applications for postdoctoral research associates from individuals who hold a Ph.D. degree (awarded no earlier than two years before the appointment start date), or who expect to receive a Ph.D. degree by July 1, 2027, for the 2027-2028 academic year. NCGG fellows conduct research in the broad areas of international and comparative political economy, international organization and global governance. These include the causes and consequences of globalization, the political economy of international trade, finance and regulation; the political economy of climate change; governance and governance institutions at the global and regional level; the domestic and international politics of economic development; the political economy of human security; and the politics of international law and human rights. Outstanding scholars anywhere in the world are eligible to apply. NCGG invites candidates with a background in political science, economics, modern history, sociology, anthropology, law and business.

Each post-doctoral associate (NCGG Fellow) will pursue research and contribute to the intellectual life of NCGG and the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. One postdoctoral research associate position is designed for an individual whose research interests overlap with those of thePrinceton Sovereign Finance Lab(PSFL), and who will work partly on PSFL-related projects. (Applicants can indicate their interest in consideration for this slot as part of the application process). All NCGG Fellows are expected to participate in NCGG research seminars and related weekly meetings, as well as occasional lectures, conferences, and other events for the expected duration of the fellowship (July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028). Appointments are for one year and are not renewable.

Successful candidates will receive a competitive salary and applicable Princeton University benefits in accordance with university guidelines, as well as a taxable moving allowance and a research allowance. The work location for this position is in-person at Princeton University. It is necessary to have the ability to be on campus each weekday to fulfill responsibilities relating to in-person participation for the expected duration of the fellowship period (July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2028).
