Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Speech Therapist (SLP) to help patients improve communication, cognitive and swallowing abilities through evidence-based care within a collaborative rehabilitation team.

You will evaluate, treat, document, educate, and collaborate to support patient progress and smooth transitions in a well-resourced environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• SLP licensure/certification required.
• BCLS certification obtained within 30 days of start date.
• 1 year NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments.
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans for safe swallowing and functional progress.
• Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries promptly.
• Educate patients and families on goals, safety, home strategies, and expected progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehab staff, and care managers for coordinated care.
