Job summary

St. David's Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Speech Therapist (SLP) to improve patients’ communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities within a collaborative rehab team in Austin, TX. You will conduct evaluations, develop plans, document progress, and educate families about goals and home strategies.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, evidence-based practices, and efficient workflows with clear caseloads, supporting timely transitions and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• SLP credential and licensure required within organization guidelines.
• BCLS (Basic Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments and tools.
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans for communication and swallowing goals.
• Document evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families on therapy goals, safety recommendations, and home strategies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing, rehab staff, and care managers for coordinated care.
