Job summary

The Registered Nurse in the NICU at St. Tammany Health System coordinates clinical activities, using nursing processes to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. You will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, and CNAs, ensuring alignment with hospital policies and state nurse acts.

Nurses may float to PICU and Pediatrics as needed, supporting department goals and delivering world-class care close to home.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
• Current LA RN licensure.
• 1 year of Level IV NICU experience within the past 12 months or 2 years Level III NICU experience within the past 3 years.
• Current BLS required upon hire.
• NRP and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
• ILCOR courses accepted with manikin check-off from reputable providers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical activities for NICU patients using the nursing process (organization, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Supervise LPNs, Unit Assistants and CNAs.
• Float to PICU and Pediatrics as needed to support department goals.
