Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Bedford, TX is seeking a NICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The unit is Level III with 16 beds and handles about 200 deliveries monthly.

Requirements include ADN or nursing diploma, RN license at hire, BCLS, NRP, NRPA, CPI within 90 days, and NICU experience; BSN preferred. Self-scheduling and a 36-hour workweek offer flexibility for a demanding, rewarding role.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
• NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
• NRPA-Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program 90 Days required
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training - within 90 days required
• 1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
• 1 year of RN experience in NICU strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
