Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Waterloo is hiring a NICU RN for the Birth Center's Level III NICU, a 23-bed unit including spacious LDRP rooms and dedicated c-section suites. The role focuses on critical care for infants 28+ weeks, family-centered care, and close collaboration with obstetric teams.

Day shift is 3a-3p; excellent team and growth opportunities are highlighted. Education requirements include an Associate degree with BSN preferred; Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter, NRP, and ALCS

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter, NRP, ALCS.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized, evidence-based care to critically ill and premature newborns in a Level III NICU.
• Supervise and coordinate the NICU nursing team.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and optimal outcomes.
• Monitor, assess, and adjust care plans for vulnerable newborns while educating families.
