Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to join our Level III NICU team.

You will assess and care for newborns, participate in high-risk deliveries, develop and evaluate care plans, and educate families on homecare and support resources. The ideal candidate has 1 year of RN experience, Texas RN license, BLS and NRP certification, with ADN required and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

  • Valid State of Texas RN license (or Compact) with 90 days to obtain full license.
  • BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • RNC-NIC and STABLE certifications preferred.
  • 1 year of RN experience; acute care setting preferred.
  • ADN required; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments.
  • Create and revise care plans including discharge planning; evaluate effectiveness.
  • Conduct ongoing infant assessments and communicate changes to NP or neonatologist.
  • Administer medications and complete treatments per hospital policy.
  • Assist transport teams in stabilization and documentation for transfers.
  • Provide families with education and homecare resources.
