Job summary

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct, patient-centered care for newborns and their families. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support developmentally appropriate care and positive outcomes in a busy NICU and Special Care Nursery.

Required is a RN license with BLS certification; graduate of an accredited nursing program is mandatory and a BSN is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• License Registered Nurse required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients and makes nursing judgments.
• Assesses health care needs and formulates, implements and evaluates a care plan.
• Coordinates care and supervises assistive personnel for safe, patient-centered care.
• Works with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs.
• Maintains ongoing education and participates in quality improvement activities.
