Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neonatal ICU (NICU) with 3–5 years NICU experience. The role involves nursing care using the nursing process for a designated patient group, within a collaborative health care team.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, NYS RN license, BLS certification. Preferred BSN; NRP within 6 months. This is a full-time position at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Registered Nurse License-NYS, BLS Certification.
• 3-5 years NICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization.
• Documents patient assessment, reassessment, progress toward goals, and all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with health care team and escalates situations appropriately.
• Establishes caring relationships with staff, patients, families and other members of the health care team.
• Administers medications and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy and procedure including blood administration.
• Establishes priorities for patient care and uses critical thinking to coordinate and complete tasks.
• Provides patient/family education and assists in discharge planning.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide nursing care based on age-related criteria of NICU patients.
