Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a dedicated Child Life Specialist to support patients and families using child development theory and therapeutic play. The role includes NICU support and a four 10-hour shift weekly schedule.

Responsibilities include clinical education, age-appropriate coping strategies, and collaboration with the care team to enhance the patient and family experience. A Child Life Internship or relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Child Life Specialist Internship, or experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child life theory and developmental concepts.
• Ability to provide clinical support and education to patients and families.

Responsabilités

• Provides clinical support/education to patients and families of all ages.
• Uses developmentally appropriate teaching strategies to support care.
• Utilizes therapeutic play and interventions to help children cope with hospitalization.
• Leads and mentors Child Life Assistants and Volunteers in patient care activities.
• Ensures a safe, child-friendly environment within play spaces and adheres to confidentiality policies.
