Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center's Children's of Mississippi NICU seeks a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under RN supervision. You will monitor vital signs, assist with procedures, maintain hygiene, transport patients, and ensure equipment readiness in a busy NICU.

The position is full-time and requires a high school diploma/GED with related patient care experience. CNA or externship training is preferred; BLS must be completed within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2 years direct patient care experience.
• Completion of a Nursing Aide clinical training program approved by MS Department of Health.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification with MS Department of Health.
• UMMC Student Nurse Externship or PCT training program completion may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and report changes to the nurse.
• Assist with procedures and patient hygiene.
• Transport patients and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Provide safe, compassionate care respecting patient rights.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation.
• Respond to call lights and coordinate with the care team.
