Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physical Therapist to perform infant development assessments and neonatal care in the NICU and newborn nurseries. The role includes counseling parents and coordinating follow-up services after discharge.

You will collaborate with the NICU Development Team, provide education to families, and contribute to research while ensuring high-quality patient care and developmental outcomes for vulnerable infants.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and MA licensure in Physical or Occupational Therapy.
• Five+ years' experience in infant and child development, assessment and therapeutic intervention.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess developmental, neuromotor and feeding concerns in neonates in NICU and newborn nurseries.
• Provide appropriate therapeutic interventions and discharge planning support.
• Counsel parents on development and family adaptation to disabilities.
• Collaborate with NICU Development Team and staff for care initiatives.
• Educate staff through in-service sessions and participate in research.
• Coordinate follow-up referrals for developmental services after discharge.
