Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of NICU experience or completion of formal course in area of specialty within established time frame.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and services to patients/families.
• Provides direction to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and nursing assistive personnel.
• Delegates nursing care according to guidelines and policies.
• Administers medications and may administer local anesthetic for IV placement.
• Acts as preceptor and takes charge duties as assigned.
• Serves as resource nurse and ensures quality of care.
