Job summary

Duke University Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide professional care to newborns and families in a high-volume environment.

You will plan, delegate, and monitor nursing care per physician orders, participate in performance improvement activities, and educate families while ensuring patient safety and quality outcomes. Relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a clinical nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited BSN, ADN, or nursing diploma program.
• RNs without a BSN must enroll within 2 years and complete within 7 years.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or compact state.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care in accordance with physician orders and established policies.
• Delegate tasks, supervise care team members, and act as team leader or charge nurse as assigned.
• Monitor and maintain the care environment including equipment and resources.
• Support professional development, precept staff, and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Educate patients and families and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
