Baystate Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the NICU and Continuing Care Nursery at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. You will lead a high-acuity neonatal team, oversee daily clinical operations, and drive quality initiatives to improve outcomes for critically ill newborns.

The role emphasizes clinical leadership, education, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care and strong family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of nursing in a related setting.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required; MA licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily clinical operations of the NICU, ensuring safe, efficient care.
• Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nurses and interdisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and leadership team to implement unit goals and quality initiatives.
• Promote family-centered care and effective communication with families.
• Monitor staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization to maintain nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Support quality and safety initiatives by monitoring outcomes and reducing risks.
• Facilitate staff education and competency development.
• Serve as a visible leader and clinical resource during daily operations.
