Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health seeks a patient care assistant to support NICU operations under supervision. You will assist with admissions, transfers and discharges, while ensuring patient and family hygiene, safety and comfort.

This role also provides clerical and clinical support to meet daily NICU needs. The ideal candidate holds a CNA and BLS certification, with NICU or Mother/Baby experience preferred, and the ability to perform data-entry tasks and handle clinical clerical

Qualifications

• CNA certification required.
• BLS certification from ARC or AHA required.
• NICU/Mother-Baby or acute pediatrics experience preferred.
• Able to pass an 8 hour computer data entry training course.
• Able to perform physical tasks for delegated nursing/therapy activities.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.
• Recent ward clerk/clerical experience in acute hospital preferred.
• Ability to evaluate and report emergent information relevant to inpatient care.
