Women & Infants Hospital in Providence, RI, is seeking a NICU Care Assistant to support nursing staff in infant care and the Milk Lab. Under supervision, you will perform routine tasks and escalate questions to the RN or nursing supervisor as needed.
The role requires a Nursing Assistant Training certificate, RI CNA license, CPR, and strong English communication. You will join a team committed to patient comfort, safety, and high-quality neonatal care.
The NICU Care Assistant performs nursing procedures and patient care tasks under the general supervision of a professional staff nurse. Attends to personal needs and comfort of patients and performs a variety of other duties to assist the staff nurse responsible for these patients. The incumbent provides support for the Milk Lab in the NICU. The NICU Care Assistant, although supervised, proceeds alone on routine tasks, referring questionable situations to the appropriate staff nurse or nursing supervisor. Performs other job-related duties as requested.
