Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of an approved CNA program, RI CNA license, CPR certification, and English proficiency.
The CNA performs nursing procedures and patient care tasks under the general supervision of a professional staff nurse. Attends to personal needs and comfort of patients and performs a variety of other duties to assist the staff nurse responsible for these patients. The Nurse's Aide, although supervised, proceeds alone on routine tasks, referring questionable situations to the appropriate staff nurse or nursing supervisor.
