Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing exceptional guest service and quality coffee and food products to guests at Coaster Cafe inside Nickelodeon Universe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure safe handling of food and beverage products in compliance with Minnesota Food Code.
2. Maintain knowledge of food and drink items, ingredients, and allergens, including seasonal products.
3. Stay informed about current sales, promotions, and discounts.
4. Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area according to standards to reduce foodborne illness risk.
5. Provide excellent guest service by greeting and engaging with guests to determine their needs.
6. Develop skills in beverage creation and recipe development.
7. Memorize recipes and perform repetitive tasks efficiently during order preparation.
8. Handle cash transactions accurately and promptly following established procedures.
9. Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
10. Assist in restocking supplies as directed.
11. Work independently with minimal supervision.
12. Cross-train with other departments, including consecutive shifts within the same week.
13. Maintain a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and late evenings for private events.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Basic computer knowledge and math skills.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Previous cash handling, barista, and guest service experience preferred.

Physical Job Requirements:

Team members will frequently speak and listen to guests, requiring good hearing and communication skills. Visual abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Must tolerate sensory stimuli such as noise, smells, lights, colors, motion, and temperature variations. Physical activities include walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, and dexterity tasks, with varying frequencies as specified.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting pay is $15.50/hour. Benefits include team member discounts, ride passes, Teladoc, Employee Assistance Program, tuition reimbursement, transit discounts, health benefits, 401(k) match, disability insurance, parental leave, and paid vacation. Benefits may vary based on position and eligibility.
