Job description

Join to apply for the Nicet 2 Certified Fire Alarm Inspector role at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety.

This position involves performing building fire alarm inspections, testing devices, recording results, and generating reports. Responsibilities include assisting the Lead Inspector or Inspection Manager with data collection and paperwork such as Fire Alarm Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Complete inspections timely and accurately.
  2. Test all building fire alarm control panels and devices, entering results into the Palm handheld device.
  3. Download information and generate Fire Alarm Inspection Reports upon inspection completion.
  4. Participate in monthly team meetings.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education/Qualifications:
  • Nicet 2 or higher certification required.
  • Minimum 4 years experience in fire alarm inspection.
  • College Degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent acceptable with relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and ability to stay current with industry codes and certifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Fire alarm experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency with test equipment and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential.
Other Duties:
  • Adhere to the company's Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, and Safety policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in industrial, commercial, and residential environments, including working at heights.
  • Physical activity includes standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a phone and computer throughout the day.

Additional details include the anticipated close date (5/30/25), pay rate ($40-55/hr based on experience), and benefits such as health insurance, 401K, paid leave, and a company vehicle if applicable.
