Responsibilities

• Receives and handles deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, etc., ensuring proper endorsement on negotiable instruments.
• Maintains cash in teller drawer and reconciles drawer/dispenser/recycler according to credit union guidelines.
• Ensures confidentiality of negotiable and confidential records.
• Opens/closes accounts, opens/closes sub-accounts, orders checks, provides statements, and handles safe-deposit box/IRA procedures.
• Complies with operations and security procedures by participating in dual-control functions.
• Explain, advise on and promote credit union products and services to members.
• Cross-sell and fulfill members' needs with credit union products.
• Communicate ideas to supervisor to improve member service.
• Understand post-robbery procedures and role in such scenarios.
• Perform stop-payments procedures as needed.
• Assist members in accessing the safe deposit area.
• Maintain neat, orderly work area and professional appearance.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Perform account reviews as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Perform other duties as directed and assist others to complete tasks.

TELLER

Reports to Member Services Supervisor and/or Branch Manager

SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION

Performs a variety of duties related to all phases of teller work, including proper receiving and handling of deposits, cashing of checks/share drafts, and facilitating efficient access of members to their accounts.

1. 1. Receives and handles deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, etc., ensuring the proper endorsement on negotiable instruments.
2. 2. Maintains authorized amounts of cash in teller drawer and reconciles drawer/dispenser/recycler according to credit union guidelines.
3. 3. Ensures that all negotiable and confidential records are properly secured and kept confidential.
4. 4. Completes special requests by opening or closing accounts; open and close sub-accounts; taking orders for checks; providing statements copies, and completing safe-deposit box procedures, and IRA procedures.
5. 5. Complies with credit union operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
6. 6. Explain, advise on and promote credit union products and services to members

Requirements
