POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of a Physician or RN, assists in providing patient care and performs selected treatments and procedures. Updates RN with timely information regarding status of patient in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. |
EDUCATION/TRAINING: High school graduate.Must provide copy of diploma/degree for highest level of education obtained. |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Certification as a Nursing Assistant, EMT, Completion of fundamentals of nursing course and be registered on the Illinois Department of Health Registry or a nurse who has complete RN or LPN training in another country, or RMA, AAMA, CCMA or NCCT certification required upon hire. Basic EKG and/or Phlebotomy preferred. Annual CPR certification required. |
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Good interpersonal, organizational and critical decision-making skills required. Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Basic arithmetic skills required. Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance preferred. Ability to type 35 wpm and proficiency in a variety of computer applications preferred. Excellent public relations skills required. |
