Qualifications

Job Description

Pay Range: $39.82 - $61.72 / hour

Additional components of compensation may include:

    • Evening, night and weekend shift differential
    • Overtime
    • On-call pay

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinates, oversees and delivers patient care system-wide using an interdisciplinary approach, utilizing the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Directs and provides patient teaching activities. Maintains standards of professional nursing practices. Documents complete and accurate patient information in compliance with Patient Services Department policy and other regulatory agency requirements. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental and divisional nursing philosophy and objectives, as well as, Health System initiatives. Coordinates family involvement in assessment and treatment of the patient. Provides age and culturally appropriate assessment/screening, interpretation of clinical and laboratory data and develops and implements age appropriate interventional and plans of care including education within the parameters of his/her position responsibilities and licensure .

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelors degree in nursing required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois and the following certifications:

  • Bi-annual CPR certification required.
  • NRP by end of orientation.
  • STABLE certification within 1 year of hire.
  • RNC certification within 3 years of hire.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a caring, considerate and concerned manner. Willingness to accept responsibility. Ability to direct ancillary and assistive staff and organize work assignments. Leadership skills essential to the position. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to all customers of the organization. Ability to transition between facilities based on the needs of the health system. Ability to serve on neonatal transport team.
