This onsite maintenance supervisor role at the Louisville, KY plant reports to the Maintenance Manager. Oversee the NH3 department, Ammonia Refrigeration systems, electrical systems, compressed air systems, wastewater treatment systems, and other infrastructure areas within all plant facilities.
Position Responsibilities
- Advanced knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems in food processing plants.
- Responsible for asset reliability to reduce downtime and ensure peak plant efficiencies. Complete capital engineering design and projects in coordination with corporate engineering, production, contractors, and vendors.
- Direct responsibility for the refrigeration team and their performance.
- Comply with all current and future Safety, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety Procedures.
- Comply with all PSM/RMP regulations.
- Participate in and maintain the Process Safety Management Program.
- Coordinate work with outside contractors.
- Assist in performing major and minor repairs on Utility Equipment (Boilers, Ammonia Refrigeration, HVAC, Air Compressors, Fire Retention Systems, and Cooling Towers).
- Train, motivate, and direct employees to follow safe work methods and standards.
- Oversee the purchase of supplies and repair parts, ensuring quality.
- Support the plant's safety program.
- Comply with all OSHA safety regulations and standards.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or other technical degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in utilities, emphasizing HVAC/R, Controls, or Electrical. Ability to pass RETA CARO exam within 90 days.
- 2-4 years of NH3 experience with RETA CARO Certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of previous NH3 experience required.
- Previous management experience required.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
- Experience with Preventative Maintenance programs and knowledge of electronic and electrical principles.
Compensation
Pay Range: $63,000 - $93,000. The actual salary depends on location, experience, skills, and internal equity. Conagra complies with applicable minimum salary laws.
