Job summary

Taxa is seeking a Research Associate to own and optimize the NGS pipeline in our San Francisco lab. You will manage end-to-end sequencing workflows, from library preparation to data generation, across short- and long-read platforms, with a focus on reliability and throughput.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on high-throughput NGS experience, strong automation skills, and the ability to operate on-site in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• NGS pipeline operations experience managing high-throughput sequencing workflows.
• Automation equipment experience with liquid-handling and sample-handling robots.
• Isolation, culture, and maintenance of diverse bacteria at scale.
• Strong lab organization with traceable, reproducible workflows.
• Willingness to work on-site in the Bay Area.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operation of the NGS pipeline to maximize throughput.
• Run and improve core NGS workflows from library prep to sequencing on multiple platforms.
• Ensure reproducible, traceable processes with proper QC and data management.
• Operate independently within a lean, skilled team and own workflows and results.
