Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Project Control Manager to lead the project controls function for the Capital Projects team in Elko, NV. You will manage cost, scheduling, progress measurement, change control, and reporting to enable informed decision-making and successful project delivery.

The role requires establishing systems and standards, mentoring a team of cost engineers and schedulers, and coordinating with finance and project leadership. Site presence is required at active mining sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering/construction-related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 10–12 years of project controls on mining or heavy industrial capital projects; 5+ years in leadership preferred.
• Expertise in cost engineering, scheduling, EVM, and change control preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with project controls tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Power BI).
• Experience in both owner's team and contractor environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Champion safety culture and comply with health, safety, and environmental standards including MSHA.
• Establish and maintain project controls procedures, systems, and standards across projects.
• Lead cost management: budgeting, forecasting, commitments, accruals, and cost reporting.
• Oversee planning and scheduling: integrated master schedules and resource-loaded schedules.
• Direct progress measurement and earned value reporting; ensure auditable performance data.
• Manage change control: trend identification, evaluation, and contingency mgmt.
• Analyze schedule/cost performance, identify variances and risks, recommend actions.
• Prepare and present project performance reports, dashboards, and forecasts to leadership.
• Support contract administration: quantity tracking, payments, claims analysis.
• Coordinate with finance for capital reporting, cash flow forecasting, governance.
• Lead and develop project controls team (cost engineers, schedulers, analysts).
• Support estimating and benchmarking for studies and new projects.
• Based in Elko, NV with site presence; exposure to active construction/mining environments.

The successful candidate will lead the project controls function across the NGM projects portfolio, encompassing cost management, planning and scheduling, progress measurement, change management, and reporting. • Lead, mentor, and develop the project controls team, including cost engineers, schedulers, and analysts.
• Support estimating activities and benchmarking for studies and new project development.
• Based in Elko, Nevada, with regular presence at project sites. Site work involves exposure to active construction and mining environments requiring adherence to site safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 10-12 years of project controls experience on major mining or heavy industrial capital projects, including 5+ years in a leadership role preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in cost engineering, scheduling, earned value management, and change control preferred
• Advanced proficiency with project controls tools (e.g., Primavera P6, cost management systems, Power BI or similar reporting tools) required
• Experience across both owner's team and contractor environments preferred
