Job summary

Barrick Gold Corporation is seeking a Project Controller – Cost Control at its Nevada Gold Mines operations in Elko, NV. The role focuses on monitoring, controlling, and reporting the financial performance of mining projects to keep them within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• 5–10 years of experience in project controls, cost control, or financial management within mining or heavy industrial sectors preferred.
• Strong understanding of mining project cost structures, budgeting, and financial reporting required.
• Proficiency in project controls software such as SAP, Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills; strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update project budgets, forecasts, and cost control plans.
• Monitor project costs, track variances, and provide detailed financial reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance to collect and validate cost data.
• Perform cost risk analysis, trend forecasting, and scenario modeling.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and other expenditures.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reporting for senior leadership.

This role monitors, controls, and reports the financial performance of mining projects, ensuring delivery within budget through accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and analyses. Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and update project budgets, forecasts, and cost control plans in alignment with project scope and schedule.
• Monitor project costs, track variances, and provide detailed financial reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teams to ensure timely collection and validation of cost data.
• Perform cost risk analysis, trend forecasting, and scenario modeling to support project decisions.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and other project-related expenditures.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc management reports for senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvements, and efficiency enhancements.
• Assist in audits and financial reviews related to project costs.Other duties as required
