Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a NG, NGLs, and Specialties Optimization Modeling & Technology Manager in Denver, CO. The role leads the development and deployment of optimization models and digital tools across the NG/NGL value chain.

You will partner with Commercial, Trading, Operations, Finance, and IT to translate plant capabilities and constraints into actionable recommendations, ensure governance, training, and sustainable value realization across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; other technical fields considered with substantial relevant experience.
• 10+ years experience developing, supporting, or applying optimization or decision-support models in energy.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and working with third-party providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and lifecycle management of NG & NGL optimization models and tools.
• Translate plant configurations, operating limits, and market economics into model requirements.
• Partner with IT, data teams, and providers to define design, data integration, and deployment needs.
• Direct model calibration, validation, and performance monitoring for feasible, explainable results.
• Coordinate tool delivery across Planning, Commercial, Trading, Operations, and Finance.
• Own acceptance, testing, training, and transition to business and IT support models.
• Develop training materials and guidance for users and support teams.
