Job summary

The Ohio Department of Medicaid seeks an LTSS policy leader to oversee the Nursing Facility Policy Section. As NF Policy Section Chief, you will guide interpretation, development, and implementation of policy across ODM and coordinate with divisions.

You will lead a tiered team, serve as executive liaison to ODM leadership, and drive cross-functional collaboration with fiscal, legal and care coordination to ensure coordinated policy execution.

Qualifications

• Graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance.
• 36 months experience in planning & administering health services program or health services project management.
• Or 12 months experience as a Medicaid Health Systems Administrator 2.
• Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic leader for NF policy across ODM, overseeing interpretation, development, and implementation related to ORC, OAC, and operational standards.
• Overseeing the organization’s NF claim resolution strategy to ensure policy alignment, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
• Providing leadership to a tiered team structure, offering direct support to frontline staff while guiding and developing management.
• Representing ODM as the senior leader in key stakeholder discussions on NF policy, guiding strategic direction and resolving complex issues.
• Serving as the executive liaison for NF policy, presenting recommendations to ODM leadership and shaping long-term policy strategy.
• Driving cross-functional collaboration across ODM divisions including fiscal, legal, care coordination, and managed care to ensure coordinated and unified policy execution.
