Woodlands Church in Plover, Wisconsin, seeks a NextGen Ministry Leader to guide birth through high school through a unified, gospel-centered strategy. You will lead 5+ NextGen staff and a large volunteer network, shaping discipleship pathways for families and overseeing budgets and operations.

As a member of the Ministry Leadership Team, you’ll champion best practices, staff development, and collaborative ministry in a growing, multi-generational church environment.

About this position

Woodlands Church, an Evangelical Free Church, is a growing, multi-generational congregation in Plover, Wisconsin, serving the greater Stevens Point-Plover area with a bold mission: To be a Christ centered community helping people faithfully follow Jesus, both locally and globally. The church began meeting at a YMCA in 1973 and later relocated to its current Hoover Ave property. Under Senior Pastor Jon Ewton, Woodlands is in a season of continued growth, having completed the third phase of its Hoover Ave building, including a new auditorium, lobby, and nursery wing in 2020.

Across two identical Sunday services (8:45 and 10:30), Woodlands reaches an average of 1,700 people weekly. NextGen Sundays serves nursery through 6th grade with an average of 190 kids, supported by a team of 65 volunteers using the Gospel Project curriculum. Beyond Sunday mornings, Woodlands runs a thriving midweek ministry (230 kids, PreK–6th grade) and a healthy small group culture for 7th–12th graders (200 students), combining large-group worship with grade-and-gender specific small groups led by two small group leaders.

Woodlands Church is seeking an experienced leader to guide this entire NextGen ministry through a pivotal season, overseeing five+ NextGen staff from Nursery through High School. This full time, NextGen Ministry Leader will unify all NextGen staff, volunteers, and ministries into one cohesive vision, not isolated programs, bringing strong strategic and administrative leadership: setting vision, building systems, managing budgets, and developing high-capacity leaders who multiply disciples. They also carry a deep commitment to discipleship, equipping children, teens, parents, and leaders to faithfully follow Jesus in all of life and for all of life. As a member of the Ministry Leadership Team, they'll help champion Woodlands' next chapter, multiplying healthy churches across Central Wisconsin and building a NextGen ministry strong enough to strengthen future church plants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide spiritual and pastoral leadership — Coach and care for the 5+ NextGen staff and volunteers, ensuring all ministries are biblically grounded, Gospel-centered, and aligned with Woodlands' mission and values
• Lead and develop staff — Conduct regular 1:1s and Team Alignment meetings, coach and hold staff accountable through Trimester Ministry Initiatives, and participate in hiring, onboarding, and evaluating NextGen staff
• Set strategic direction — Develop and execute a unified NextGen strategy from birth through high school graduation, ensuring ministries function as one rather than isolated programs; oversee budgeting, planning, and calendars
• Champion volunteer development — Provide vision and oversight for recruiting, equipping, and multiplying volunteer leaders, partnering with the NextGen Team Development Leader to build healthy leadership pathways
• Engage families — Build discipleship pathways and communication rhythms that equip parents and guardians as the primary spiritual influencers in their children's lives
• Oversee ministry operations — Steward the NextGen budget, ensure clear communication and consistent policies/safety procedures, and use tools like Planning Center effectively
• Serve on the Ministry Leadership Team — Contribute to Woodlands' broader strategic direction and culture, participate in Leadership Gatherings, Discover Woodlands, and Elder Meetings as appropriate, and align with the Executive Ministry Leader on church-wide priorities

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A clear, growing testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, reflecting the character qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
• Experience. Proven experience in ministry leadership and NextGen oversight (4–5 years full-time vocational ministry preferred)
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Full alignment with the EFCA Statement of Faith
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams spiritually and professionally, both publicly and behind the scenes
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong collaboration, organizational, and project management skills
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Canva, Planning Center, ProPresenter, and similar ministry tools preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead with warmth, clarity, and humility
