Job summary

NVIDIA’s Architecture Research Group seeks an intern to push the boundaries of GPU and data-center computing. You’ll explore microarchitecture, memory systems, data-center hardware, and accelerators, translating ideas into future NVIDIA systems.

Work across hardware and software boundaries, build models, simulators, prototypes, and experimental tools, and collaborate with researchers and product teams to evaluate concepts. This internship emphasizes research impact and publication opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing PhD in CS/CE/EE/Physics/Math.
• Experience in hardware, software or algorithm development in graphics, imaging, or computing domains.
• Strong programming ability in C/C++ and scripting languages.
• Experience as a CUDA programmer.
• Background with building computer system simulators.
• Experience building low-level software tools such as runtime systems, binary translators, or compilers.
• Strong background in computer architecture and parallel architectures.

Responsibilities

• Investigate new architecture concepts for future GPUs, memory systems, accelerators, and data-center platforms.
• Study emerging workloads and identify architectural bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Explore hardware–software co-design across architecture, compilers, runtime systems, programming models, and applications.
• Develop models, simulators, prototypes, and experimental tools to evaluate new architecture ideas.
• Research memory hierarchy, coherence, consistency, data movement, and system-level programmability.
• Collaborate with NVIDIA researchers, GPU architects, software teams, and product groups to evaluate concepts.
• Communicate research findings via presentations, reports, and potential publications.
• Transfer successful research ideas and tools into NVIDIA product teams.
