Job summary

Peraton is seeking an authoritative Next-Gen Technology Engineer specializing in Cloud Architecture & Modernization. Based in Reston, VA, this on-site role guides cloud transformations for US Intelligence and Space programs, aligning legacy systems to secure, scalable cloud solutions with FedRAMP and IL4/IL6 controls.

You will lead multi-cloud designs (AWS/Azure/GCP), develop migration roadmaps, and mentor teams while collaborating with business development to win strategic proposals.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8+ years with BS/BA in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field; or 6+ years with MS/MA; or 3+ years with PhD.
• Candidate must hold Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI and maintain clearance.
• Professional cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) and design/implementation experience in IC/DoD/Space environments with security controls.
• Proven track record leading cloud migrations from on-prem to cloud or hybrid architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of enterprise cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) for government proposals, including hybrid/multi-clouds.
• Develop comprehensive cloud migration strategies and roadmaps from on-prem to cloud-native/hybrid environments.
• Architect data optimization, management, and AI-enabled data fusion and analytics in cloud platforms.
• Ensure all solutions meet FedRAMP, IL4/IL5/IL6, and customer security requirements.
• Collaborate with BD, capture teams, and program managers to align cloud capabilities with mission objectives.
• Mentor staff on cloud architecture best practices, security frameworks, and emerging capabilities.
• Present cloud strategies and ROI to senior leadership and governance boards.
• Maintain evolving expertise in cloud services and government cloud adoption trends.
